cape buffalo hunt in south africa

is it safe? fact check!

This is a factual article on what is happening in South Africa: https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/08/27/analysis-putting-the-farm-violence-in-south-africa-in-context

IMPORTANT! A note to our hunters about the ‘media’ reports of violence in Africa. We want our guests to know that we were in South Africa (Douglas, Limpopo and Cape Town) summer 2018 and read numerous reports about the violence against farmers in various parts of the country. We believe that our outfitters have done everything humanly possible to secure their lodging and hunting areas. The violence seems to be more prevalent in the northern parts of South Africa and isn’t nearly as widespread as some may believe, I.E., 5 farmers were killed while we were there for 6 weeks but how does that compare the the ACTUAL number of people killed in South Africa during the same 6  weeks – it’s a TINY percentage.

NO PLACE on earth can be guaranteed safe. The media tends to only print things that garner attention rather than relating the actual number of deaths to violence as opposed to deaths in general. There’s no doubt that it has persuaded many hunters to evaluate the risks of traveling and hunting in South Africa.

We hope you will consider hunting with us this coming summer. The ONLY reason it may be our last trip is our age!!! The trip is tough on us physically —  Ken & Roseann Mayer
